| Recent discussions regarding the advertising of CS on other forums has been raised. I do think that we can offer some ground rules to promoting CS I have also been guilty of posting threads on other forums so this is just a short guide or suggestions really of how to advertise the forum. I know it is exciting to have a small forum which offers good priced frags and an avenue to swap frags - I hope I havent offended anyone - Captain Nemo has done a great job getting more people to the site and I am certain that this forum will grow.....
Other forums It may be an idea to pm or email admins on other forums to see whether they would want to support coral swap in some way. Search on a forum for threads which have free frags within them or coral swap within them - make sure that you arent duplicating - perhaps a friendly bump (post supporting the thread) boosts the position of the posting to the top of the list.
Individual members - an effective advert for coral swap is a link to this site through your signature on other forums. I have put CS on my signature and have made it clear that it is an external site.
Websites It would be good to have banners and links from individual websites, blogs and other sites such as myspace, bebo and facebook.
Ebay - Not sure whether we can place links on items for sale but if people can send out links to this site that would be cool
Aquatic Classifieds Links to this site may help to bring new people to the site.
Business cards I am planning to produce some business cards which can be sent out to people when I swap frags etc within the packaging and given to people during any club meets, raids and road trips - I will also be sending out coral cradles, heat packs ect to people on here.
Posters Perhaps we can look at logos and produce a small poster for placing in supportive LFS and other businesses......
Clubs If you are a member of a reef keeping club perhaps encourage members to look at coral swap through articles in newsletters (email and paper) and from banners on websites -
Always discuss where you have managed to place adverts and links with Josh and the mod team

| Great Ideas j. Looked into ebay they say you cannont place links to other website(although there are loads) but you place the address on the pic. I place an ad on Aquatic Classifieds every time i pop on a few frags http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/php/detail102_103539.php and up date every day for a few days so its near the top. I dont use the other forums because i was online with a well know forum and read/saw what happened with josh. |

| Great post Cranners and the 'rules' are ones which we will need to follow if we are to hold any respect with the forums. Please can we request that no more new threads are started on the forums. If you do use other forums just add a small signature thread to your profile so it shows each time you post. If you are unsure how to do this just drop Josh, Cranners or NMK a message. |
